David Ball
Hello and welcome!
A lot of my work has come from inspiration taken from travels and sights seen around the world.
In 2004 I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art from the University of Minnesota. Shortly afterwards, I received my training in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) and over the next 8 years, taught English in Prague, Japan, Seattle, France and Vietnam. These places, and (naturally) the others I have visited, have influenced my work immensely. In 2012, I went back to school for my Master's in Art Education (again at the University of Minnesota).
Currently, I am the Art Advisor at a grade 6-12 project based public charter in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The work I have put up on this website, was created between 2000 and the present. I have taken to collecting tickets and maps while traveling. Afterwards, when I am sitting in front of a blank canvas, I will attach these items to form an impromptu background. Doing so, the images and information can be interpreted and juxtaposed into another medium, accompanied by varying images.
If you are interested in purchasing any of the pieces, please contact me or there's always my Etsy account, here.
